Born in 1975 in Tarragona, Spain, Montana studied graphic design in Barcelona and painting under Pere Caldero in Reus. Initially working as a graphic designer, he developed his painting technique alongside his design career. His first exhibition took place in Barcelona in 1996, after which he focused solely on painting. Montana is known for his character portraits, group scenes, and depictions of children, often using recycled packaging, such as old cardboard, as his canvas. He integrates materials like leftover adhesives, stickers, and cardboard staples, giving his works a collage-like feel. Toy figures, a nod to his childhood, symbolize the inner child in his pieces. He also creates unique works on paper. Montana’s art has been exhibited both nationally and internationally.
