Xochi Solis (b. 1981) is an Austin-based mixed media artist known for her multilayered collaged paintings using paint, hand-dyed paper, vinyl, plastics, and found images. Her work explores themes of time, place, and personal heritage through the illusions created by these materials. Solis grapples with how her heritage, body, and dreams for the future coexist in her work. She has participated in notable residencies, including WRONG Marfa in 2021 and Pele Prints in 2016, where she combined painting and collage with printmaking techniques. Her work has been featured in publications such as Collage: Contemporary Artists Hunt and Gather (2014) and A BIG IMPORTANT ART BOOK (NOW WITH WOMEN) (2018).
