Katherina Olschbaur is an Austrian artist who explores themes of gender, power, and sexuality through her depictions of the human body, challenging societal stereotypes and expectations placed on women. She graduated from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Recent solo exhibitions include Tortured Ecstasies at Nicodim Gallery, Los Angeles (2020), Dirty Elements at UC Irvine’s Contemporary Arts Center Gallery (2020), and The Divine Hermaphrodite at GNYP Gallery, Berlin (2019). Her work has been featured in notable group shows, including Hollywood Babylon at Jeffrey Deitch, Los Angeles (2020), LA on Fire at Wilding Cran Gallery, and SEED at Paul Kasmin Gallery, New York (2018). Olschbaur’s work has been displayed in institutions such as the Salzburger Kunstverein and Kunsthalle Krems in Austria.
