Alma Itzhaky, a Tel Aviv-based artist born in 1984, is known for her figurative painting that explores contemporary Israeli society. She has received several prestigious awards, including the Rappaport Prize for a Young Artist (2014) and the Osnat Mozes Painting Prize (2012). Itzhaky has had three solo exhibitions, most notably at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art (2015), and her work is part of major public and private collections. She has participated in international residencies such as the Bronner Residency (Düsseldorf, 2012) and NARS Foundation Residency (NYC, 2016). Itzhaky’s large-scale paintings depict social scenes set in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, oscillating between violence and eroticism, exploring the tension between aggression and solidarity in group dynamics. She currently teaches at Shenkar Academy’s interdisciplinary art department and previously lectured at Beit Berl College.
