Yakir Ben-Moshe, born in 1973, is a Tel Aviv-based poet who won the Israeli Prime Minister’s Prize for Literature (2012) and the Israeli Minister of Culture’s Prize (2003). He has published six books, with his most recent, Whistle of a Night Watchman, released by Bialik Institute in 2021. His poetry has been translated into multiple languages, including English, Russian, and Chinese, and featured in anthologies and journals. Since 2000, he has served as the literary editor at Beit Bialik and curated cultural events, including the Tel Aviv Municipality’s “Poetry on the Road” and the “Gate” International Poetry Festival. Ben-Moshe has judged prestigious literary competitions, including the Israeli President’s House Poetry Award. He also writes about literature and classical music, edits books for many writers, and teaches literature and writing workshops at various institutions. He was named ‘Best Writing Workshop Teacher in Israel’ by Maariv newspaper.
